Yoga and Fitness have been Molly’s passion for over 20 years. Molly is a Fitness/Wellness Specialist and Yoga Therapist at the Caron Treatment Centers in addition to teaching at Linda’s Power Yoga. She is also active in the surrounding community where she assists individuals and support groups who are fighting disease and overcoming injuries. Molly also holds certificates in Yoga of Recovery®, Reiki II and Trauma-Sensitive Yoga.
At the age of just 16, Molly started teaching fitness classes and was fit, but not healthy. Molly’s was desperately looking for a way out of her dysfunctional life and to begin living a truly balanced life. This is when she reached to the path of yoga. Molly’s fresh but tantalizing yoga practice gave her the courage to escape an unhappy life and began living a joyful healthy life!
In 2002, during Molly’s 200 hr. YogaFit® teacher training, she had the opportunity to join the Omega Institutes’ K. Pattabhi Jois’ last world tour and to practice with several experienced yogis and yoginis such as Pattabhi Jois, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, Baron Baptiste, Rodney Yee, Alan Finger, Sharon Gannon and David Life. Which she’s proud to share that David Life literally touched her butt while adjusted her sitz bones!
Molly’s mother has lived with Multiple Sclerosis and many other autoimmune diseases for 35 years, which encouraged her to give back to people living with disease and injury. In 2003, Molly contacted the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and practiced with Iyengar teacher, Marian Garfinkel, receiving a certification to teach yoga for people with MS. She also had the opportunity to teach yoga at the Reading Hospital for a courageous group of people fighting breast cancer and at Easter Seals for children with autism.
Teaching yoga for individuals and groups who are fighting disease and overcoming injuries filled her heart! In 2005, Molly began her yoga therapy studies with Integrative Yoga Therapist ( www.iytyogatherapy.com ), Joseph and Lillian LePage. Her first week of practice was Chakra Therapy at Arsha Vidya Gurukulam ( www.arshavidya.org ) and she immediately connected. In 2006 she began her Reiki journey. Molly’s Reiki experience has been the healing wisdom she was looking for. Molly continued on her 1000 hour training with IYT at The Mount Madonna Center ( www.mountmadonna.org ), which is where she experienced her spiritual connection. The Hanuman Temple is where her state of grace began.
Molly continued on her Yoga and Chakra therapy path by attend training’s at Arsha Vidya and now her home ashram, The Himalayan Institute ( www.himalayaninstitute.org ). Studying and practicing yoga philosophy with Sri Swami Tattvavidananda, Eleanor Criswell, Susie Hatley, Dr. Timothy McCall, Sheri Friedrichsen, Dr. Carrie Demers, Rod Stryker, Rolf Sovik and Pandit Rajmani Tigunait. Molly has also practiced with Anusara teachers John Friend, Marjorie Nass and John Levis.
In 2010, Molly became a proud member of The International Association of Yoga Therapists ( www.iayt.org ). In 2011, she received her certificate as a Yoga of Recovery® teacher ( www.yogaofrecovery.com ) , while studying at Sivananada Yoga Ranch ( www.sivanada.org/yogaranch ) with Durga Leela and Swami Sitaramananda. An integration of Yoga, Ayurveda and 12- step principals to help those overcoming addition and self-destructive behaviors. In 2013, Molly attended a week long Trauma Sensitive Yoga program at Kripalu ( www.kripalu.org ), studying with David Emerson, Elizabeth Hopper and Bessel van der Kolk.
When Molly is not teaching, practicing or studying yoga philosophy, she enjoys nature, camping, fishing and hiking with her husband, Scot and her furry, four-legged children, Porter and Sarah. She also enjoys paddle boarding, reading, cooking and organic gardening.
